Ryan Bates has successfully completed $85MM of real estate development utilizing historic Federal and State Tax credits, 4% and 9% low income housing tax credits, community development block grant funding, payment in lieu of tax programs and housing voucher programs in Louisiana since 2015. Bates has also completed opportunity zone transactions centered around real estate development in New Orleans. Bates role has been asset manager and both lead/co-developer with responsibilities of deal sourcing, pre- acquisition negotiation, financing with local banks and HTC /LIHTC investors, financing with federal/state housing agencies, construction oversight, and on-going asset management with tax credit investors, lenders and governmental agencies post development completion. Bates is the owner of Bates Development and Bates Management LLC, a minority certified business enterprise with certifications of real estate development, business management consulting, financial consulting and broker fee transactions. Bates Management LLC is certified with the City of New Orleans and federally with the State of Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

Bates also currently serves as Vice President of Development for IDP Properties, a full-service boutique real estate development firm headquartered in Valdosta, GA that invests in and redevelops affordable housing communities. Bates is responsible for real estate development and new business opportunities in the Louisiana Market. Ryan utilizes his company Bates Management as co-developer on these transactions with IDP Properties as a joint venture for affordable housing deals in Louisiana.

Ryan is a board member for the Urban Development Fund, a New Market Tax Credit Development Entity.

Bates is a native of New Orleans, LA and an alumnus of Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Leadership Studies. He began his professional career at JPMorgan Asset Management where he was series 7 and series 63 certified working as an investor for institutions and high net worth private clients. When not focusing on real estate development, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife Marcia and daughter Gisele.
